Dedicated to the history of Paris, The Carnavalet Museum is located in the historical Marais (on the doorstep of our Malher apartment & around the corner from all of our apartments).
Set in beautiful old mansion houses, it has been open to the public since 1880 and is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike. The permanent collection is free (donation fee of 5€ encouraged) and major exhibitions are held regularly. Most of the written commentary is in French but English audio guides are available. With a stunning entrance, beautiful orangery, central location, and a small and manageable size, the Carnavalet Museum is a very worthwhile activity.
hours: Tuesday to Sunday- 10h to 18h (last entrance at 17h)
